Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

We are currently in network with Aetna, Cigna and Medicare. Otherwise, our therapists are considered out-of-network providers, and do not accept insurance. We can however provide you with a superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider if they will reimburse you. Please communicate directly with your insurance prior to starting therapy if you are considering this option.

More about insurance…

Insurance requires the client to have a diagnosis assigned for which therapy would be considered medically necessary. Conflict or communication are typically not covered by insurance. For this reason, unless couples therapy is being used to address a specific diagnosis for one of the spouses or partners (for which therapy is considered medically necessary), insurance often doesn’t cover this service. Even for individual therapy, if CTC is going to bill insurance, your consultation call and/or therapist will discuss your goals for therapy, what diagnosis is appropriate, and whether or not this diagnosis is likely to be covered by insurance. We don’t mind asking your insurance if they will cover the discussed diagnosis, we just don’t have control over the insurance company’s response. Please don’t hesitate to ask us any further questions regarding insurance because we understand that it can be a confusing and frustrating process.

How do I start?

We know that some might feel a bit anxious to start therapy. Don’t worry, we want to make this as smooth of a beginning for you as possible.

Option #1: We provide a complimentary 20 minute consultation if needed: to ask any questions you have, see if you connect with the therapist you contacted, and schedule your first session if you’re ready.

Option #2: If you’re ready to start ASAP, call the therapist that you would like to work with, and schedule your first appointment at their soonest available opening.

Final step: Intake forms will be sent to you electronically once you’re provided your email and phone number. You arrive at your first appointment with no paperwork to complete, you’ll start therapy right away!

Do you provide faith-based therapy?

Yes and no. The utmost priority at our center is to provide you with excellent clinical and ethical therapy. We collaborate with you to provide therapy that supports your goals. For many of our clients, this includes incorporating their faith. Our therapists are ethical in how they include faith when it’s been requested and is appropriate, without agenda. We often ask whether spirituality is a resource for you, and what works for you in therapy or doesn’t, so your therapist will be listening to you if faith-based therapy is not something you are interested in.

What is an intensive?

An intensive is an extended therapy session ranging from 3 hours to 3 days (6-7 hour days). Some clients prefer intensives for a variety of reasons, including the ability to block out a chunk of time and focus exclusively on their need or goal without the interruption of outside demands. An intensive can provide the opportunity to cover more ground more efficiently. Some prefer the momentum of typical weekly appointments, while others appreciate knowing that they have a longer amount of time to dedicate to going deeper, faster and for a longer amount of time than a typical session allows. Intensives are not a cure, but they can accelerate the process and provide for a different type of momentum and progress that is not able to be accomplished in weekly or bi-weekly sessions.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, checks, or credit cards. We also accept most HSA or FSA credit cards.

How often will I meet with my therapist?

We collaborate with you to coordinate a schedule that meets your needs and therapeutic goals. We generally recommend that you meet at least every other week in order to maintain your progress. If you are in crisis, we recommend meeting with your therapist weekly for as long as you and your therapist deem appropriate.

What are CTC’s fees?

Our fees vary from $150-200 (depending on experience and licensure). If you are experiencing financial hardship we reserve some room in our schedule for a reduced fee as a gift to our community. Please check with your therapist to determine if he or she has availability for one of these spots. We can also provide other options or referrals for your financial needs.

How long does therapy last?

Length of therapy depends on each client and their goals. Some prefer long-term therapy, and others prefer shorter term therapy to focus on very specific issues.

Cancellation Policy: Please cancel your appointment with 24 hours notice. No shows and late cancellations will be charged the full fee.
